Ahn Jae Hyun Opens Up About Loneliness 5 Years After Divorce: “All My Friends Have Kids Now”

Actor Ahn Jae Hyun shared a heartfelt confession about his current emotional struggles, five years after his public divorce from actress Goo Hye Sun.

On the July 4 episode of KBS 2TV’s “Heart on Wheels”, the cast embarked on a 1-night, 2-day getaway alongside “Squid Game” Season 3 stars Yang Dong Geun, Wi Ha Joon, and Park Gyu Young.

As the cast gathered for drinks after games and dinner, emotions flowed. Lee Min Jung said, “Today was really so much fun,” to which Yang Dong Geun agreed, “We made unforgettable memories.”

It was then that Ahn Jae Hyun candidly expressed his inner thoughts:

“There’s something I’ve been feeling. When you’re working, you still meet people and have things going on… But at some point, your friends start having kids. Their kids are now entering elementary school. Making last-minute plans feels so burdensome now.”

He continued, “On weekends, when I finally have time, I think ‘this is a golden weekend,’ but my friends are already booked with family meals. Lately, that’s made me feel really lonely… and honestly, a little envious.”

Boom lightened the mood by joking, “That’s why you should get married again — just try it out,” prompting Ahn to ask, “Have kids?” Boom replied, “Of course. You’ve overcome pain well.”

Ahn Jae Hyun responded with a firm yet humorous tone, “There’s no more pain left now,” making the group laugh. Boom then pitched a matchmaking idea:

“Let’s do a segment called ‘Gone Through Love’ where we each introduce someone to Jae Hyun,” sparking curiosity.

Ahn cheekily asked, “So I get a blind date in every region we visit?” Boom quipped “You’re making it all about yourself now!”, drawing more laughter.
